So I have a couple threads here about getting my axim setup better mostly because I'm not sure of the overall longevity of it. I've been seriously considering replacing it with an Itouch because its smaller, has better battery life, and provides 90% of the features I use it for. I'm a medical student so I use a PDA for drug references and stuff that has cross platform availability. Size is important because it needs to fit easily on a belt clip or in my white coat with all the other stuff I have to carry for a given clinical day. Right now the Axim resides in a Rhinoskin case which I love because in the hospital the axim suffers alot of bumps, jarring, squishing, and drops in the heat of the moment.
As I can see it the only thing my Axim wins on is the GPS software that I haven't seen on an Itouch. I mean if I'm going to finish pimping out my Axim I want to make sure its worthwhile because the battery is typically dead by the end of my day and thats without using Wi-Fi. Axim: Windows, GPS, bluetooth keyboard (that I never use) Needs w/ minimal cost: Extended Battery ($25), New Case ($25) Itouch: Battery, Memory, easier MP3, Size What else should I be considering? If I consider using the Axim for more recreational stuff like music of movies, how long will the battery last? Last edited by fbskiracer; 04-05-2009 at 06:00 AM.. |
