I've bluemouse installed it could be a software conflict with 6.5 cause I shouldn't have the mouse icon unless i'm using the program.

Default Dynamite Internet Explorer

I am liking this Dynamite WM6.5 A06 ROM.

I have found one problem that I would like to mention:

- the included 'Internet Explorer' has some serious memory problems.

It will not release all of its used RAM.
That happens after browsing the internet and also when simply viewing
an html file from a local folder!

----

I am mentioning this so that anyone using the X51v for GPS should check
the free RAM after using the 'Internet Explorer' included in this ROM.

So far the only way I have found to regain that RAM is a soft-reset.

I recommend using another web browser as your default browser.

Try the PIE6 cab from the link on the first post of this thread to 4PDA.ru

http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showt...&#entry3091613

I tried this and it does not suffer from the RAM issues you describe.

Default Smooth Operation!

This is the first ROM which I can turn on the Axim and almost immediately start using it. Until now, when I turn it on, I have to wait 10 or 15 seconds befiore tapping on the Today screen does anything.

I hope L15 is as responsive!

I used the advice in another thread. Get yourself a hex editor. Then I used a hex editor to open the rom file and searched for the following sequence:

FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 9B 4F FF FF 64 B0 00 00 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx 00 00 80 00

The xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx will vary but is followed by the current page pool size in the rom (8M in the example above, it will be different in the rom you are trying to change). Replace it with one of the following values:

00 00 80 00 =8M
00 00 C0 00 =12M
00 00 00 01 =16M
00 00 80 01 =24M
00 00 00 02 =32M

and then I saved my edited file.

Then I tried to flash my X51v. It fails as the crc value is wrong, but the Axim tells you what it should be. Then I used a text editor to change the crc file to the value given by the Axim. After that I flashed again and everything worked fine.

mirskym will a 16page pool speed up the axim?

I've got the 128mb ram, which allows multi programs running, without slowdown but doesn't really make any noticable speed changes with the standard page pool size

kinchung,

Congratulations for the custom ROM using the Dynamite Kitchen.
I have been considering doing that myself but just haven't done so yet.

---

Would you be able to write a how-to article with details about the process and
the steps that were needed to successfully edit and build your new ROM?

I know that may be allot to ask so I will understand if you aren't able.

I am using atuk3rs Quickmenu version with this rom but , although it certainly saves me 5 or 6 meg of ram, it has a few things missing in its folder structure. The main one being no Today settings. Does anyone know how to access these setting another way besides Settings>Today ?

I uploaded it to my Windows Live Skydrive. I'm not sure if it will work, but here's the link:
