upgrade and wifi problem, on x51

hi lennysh, am a novice and very new on here pls i need a series of advice from you or any one that is willing to help pls. i have a x51 with wm 5 and here are my quests:
1) how do i know if its wm5 with A12, before upgrading to wm6 and above, i think i have the A08(03200600)
2) if i can upgrade, do i need to start from wm6.0 or jump straight to any of the more stable OS(6.1 - 6.5)
3)i have been having wireless issue since i got the pda, i connect through a CF card(never connected really), any advice on that, if i upgrade to wm6 or above will it work.
pls help, anybody............

Open your battery cover and look inside. There is information inside, copy the service tag # the go to Dell and download the A12 update. It will flash through active sync. Once you are done download this ROM its the latest working version for your X51 http://forum.htcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=1120

As for you wireless issue you need to find the manufacturer through google the download the latest drivers for windows mobile. If there are no drivers for WM6, WM 5 drivers should be OK.

hello mr t, thanks for the reply. i now have an x51 with the A12 rom. but am having a serios problem connecting wirelessly to my bthome hub, i have not been able to sort my school work. pls can anybody out there help/advice on what to do.
does bthome hub support wm5, or should i upgrade to wm6 for better wifi connection.
pls help

mosaic007, Why did you not upgrade to Lenny's WM6 ROM? It is faster than A12 and very stable. It should have newer drivers installed on it. Also you are not being very clear about your WiFi issues, did you install the latest drivers for your wireless card? What kind of encryption are you using on your network? Try connecting to an open network, or a wep encrypted network. No Axims can connect to WAP2 networks, also make sure your network is set to variable and not G or N only. The Axim X51v has a wireless B antenna; I'm not sure about your CF card. If you want to change your Bluetooth Stack to better a better one try this :

thanks for replying, about the wifi issues. i have been trying to connect my x51 to my bthome hub. i have installed the right drivers for the CF card socket (the socket Go wifi E500 driver),the name of my CF card is Agere wireless CF Lan and it finds all the wireless networks around including my bthome hub but it just wont connect. the authentication on my bt hub is WEP and WPA-PSK and the data encryption is TKIP, but i use the WPA-PSK with other comps in my home.am shocked to hear that the axim wont connect to WPA2, does my bt hub fall into that category?. the funny thing is that it connects to my friends network without problems, i think he has an open connection with WEP data encryption.
i would be grateful if anybody could find a solution to my prob.

Hola Lenny! Necesito una rom para mi dell axim X51, No encuentro la version L15, me podrias pasar el enlace para descargarla. Ahora tenga la L13 y me da problemas con el bluetooth y no me lee tarjetas de mas de 2GB.

Bonjour, j'ai l'axim X51 avec wm5. Puis je l'upgrader en wm6 et comment faire ?
Ensuite cj'ai une carte agere avec le bon driver the socket Go wifi E500 driver mais je n'arrive pas à avoir un réseau. COmment faire ? Merci pour votre aide.
