Extended Batteries and Cases

I've seen several 3600mah batteries for the x51V on ebay as well as the aluminum x51v extended batter cases (by cases I don't mean a battery cover I mean either a leather axim case or preferably an aluminum skin)

Anyone have either of these? Anyone know if the 3600mah batter fits in the 'extended battery case' or do they only fit the 2250mah batteries?

Thoughts?

I currently use a 2200 mAh extended battery and it is awsome (for my axim x51v) it came with the extended back cover

Ive had the pdair extended case its made for 2200mah batteries. I don't think there is a metal hard case for the 3600mah battery. I currently am using the Innopocket Magnesium Case its for standard batteries but its perfect for me.

I think I've emailed all the 3600mah battery sellers on ebay.

None of them will quote the size of the battery. I think I've asked for the physical dimensions like 20 times. 10 times they said its 3600mah. 5 times they said its bigger than a standard battery. 4 times they gave random uninterpretable dimensions with respect to something they didn't define. Once I was told that any extended battery case fits it.

I do not recommend buying batteries on ebay. I've heard lots of horror stories of fake, old, defective or just low quality batteries. Your best is to buy batteries from from a reputable vendor. Also would not recommend the 3600mah batteries. There have been complaints and this and other Axim forums about false battery latch shutdown messages. You also wont be able to use the dock or find nice cases. If you cant find a good battery vendor for 2200mah batteries just let me know and I'll point you towards a few.

I bought a 2200mah OEM Dell off Ebay for $14 with free shipping. I have the link below. It came with the back cover and it seems to be good. I've always been picky about batteries, too. I've never wanted anything other than OEM and I always wonder whether products are official or knock-offs, but I couldn't pass up on an OEM extended battery for this cheap.

I bought 3600mah battery few months ago, with deep plastic cover included. I do not recommend. Battery plastic cover is unstable, keeps mechanical latch very weakly, lock is not stable, this cause false battery latch shutdown messages. I use sticky tape to fix the cover and keep all together firmly and it really helps. In spite of tape: I discovered that internal electronics of my 3600 battery accidentally cause Axim generates message battery extremally low and power is shut down in 10 seconds. Even if battery fully loaded (charged). Very irritating and dangerous while driving a car. I measured the battery – there is no voltage fall, even if the battery is additionally loaded by small torch lamp.
The only positive thing is that Axim with such 3600mah fits to the original Dell dock. But as a pocket device is to heavy. Best Regards, a.

Many of the distributors just make up the capacity. I have a 2200 OEM and 2 2300 aftermarket batteries. The aftermarket are much newer and have less capacity (by about 15%) than the OEM. Many of the extended batteries are the same size and fit simply because the capacity is just made up.
