Ok, so I'll start from the begining...
I have an Axim x51v, under the battery it says was on A03. I connected the BT GPS reciever, it pairs, but doesn't seem to want to connect. So I do some reading and figure I need to update. So I go to flash it to A12, turns out I actually had A12.001. I flashed it anyhow.. Still doesn't want to connect to the GPS.. ok fine, so for the fun of it I try the OCN8.3... it doesn't run, well kinda.. starts to run, and then I got a memory error... Sooo I flashed it to L11.. worked like a charm... I love the temp gauge on the battery. I can run the OCN8.3 now no probs.. it's actually pretty quick too.. I can pair the GPS, but it doesn't want to connect still.. It's a mavin from gpsnow.. I tried the com setting from the mobility site.. no difference. Any ideas? Thanks |

Did you create com port for GPS (Slave)?
So your app should connect to this port. |

on my Lenny L11 (the one i sold), i had to install another bluetooth stack manager to make it work properly...
on my Dell A12 stock rom, it worked with the default stack here's what i had to do for both hmmm... when i had my Dell x51v and a BT GPS(the Dell branded SirFIII GPS), what i had to do was (assuming starting afresh, no other pairings) 1) Pair with authentication (enter the passkey from your BT GPS on your x51v 2) Set up an outgoing COM port (usually it's COM7 or COM8) 3) Go to Settings>Hardware>External GPS -- Internal GPS port (for GPS software) - COM4 -- Hardware GPS port (for BT GPS) ----- what you set in (2)... COM7 or COM8... BAUD rate according to your BT GPS -- Allow auto management of GPS 4) Start your BT GPS, BT on your device, go to your GPS software and edit it to connect via COM4... if it fails, then use the com port in (2) Last edited by paper_wastage; 08-29-2009 at 12:51 PM.. |

I did similar stuff to that as well.. no go..
With similar settings to what paper_wastage said going into OCN, settings - gps - unchecking GPS enabled, then hit auto detect I got it to connect for about 20min, then it disconnected and I wasn't able to get it to connect again... trying exactly what paper_wastage said now.... didn't work, with his settings, trying to get ocn to search for the gps receiver.... nope, can't find it. Last night I tried BuyGPSnow's instruction: Quote:

Interesting.. I tried re-pairing but I removed the gps, did a soft reset, paired it, but the ocn software decided to stop working.. saying I need the proper SD card in there. I'm restoring from a backup right now.
So I tested some other software wififofu2 or something, a wifi finder with GPS logging of hot spots once I set it to the hardware port of 7, it connected and worked... so it just figuring out the OCN software me thinks |
