At least as far as the webpage goes, if you enter "Dell Axim x51v WM6.5 Dynamite Edition" into google, you can click on "Translate this page" next to the search result.

This is interesting...

Dynomite gave up further development due to increasing inconsistence of hardware (x51v) and newer 6.5 builds.

Default So far so good

I downloaded the English version and so far so good. I think the developers are the folks who took over Football's orginal WM5 development.

On memory side, I only have 15MB free after intalling a bunch of programs, such SPB PocketPlus, Opera, etc. Opera gives an "out of memory" error once a while.

Anybody wants to buy my x51v in mint condition? I bought it after I got a $100 coupon from Dell aftering complaining about they failed to support WM5 on my old x50v. Used probably 20 times. Never left my house. Got 2 standard battery, one extended battery with battery cover, one brand new leather case, one aluminium case (supports extended battery), one Covertec black leather case ($50), and all standard packaging material from Dell. It also comes with a bluetooth GPS (got it from a friend as an engineering sample, no case, I put in an Ipod case and it works fine). Asking $125? I am in Silicon Valley. Please contact marcus_sun@yahoo.com

x51v is very limited in RAM...
128 MBytes is the minimum requirement to run WM6.5 I suppose.
Instead in drawing bitmap and CPU power it is ahead of many newer PDA.

Here's a translated copy of the Kitchen instructions if anyone is curious. Of course, to get the XIP tool on that link, you have to be a member of the site. If anyone gets it before I try to register, please feel free to post it!

Also, if you try to use the kitchen from that link, that executable file works like this...

Select a place to install the kitchen to with the drop down menu, using the gUI button to the right of the dropdown.

After doing that, click the bottom left GUI button.

It should extract a complete kitchen in the directory you designated. Between that and the translated manual for the kitchen, this should be fun fun fun!

Exclamation

hi
I tested the rom is very smooth the truth I see no difference with L14 only changes the size of icons windows startup and error I've found is that java does not work and I can not use mini runs 5 so I'll try again but installing everything from scratch and if the problem persists volvere L15 to L14 hope that support Java and have a much more fluid and better management of ram to L14 so if someone has installed WM6.5 Dell Axim X51v Dynamite Edition and has managed to java function to report so for those who have not installed the L14 does not change much so better leave this rom.
greetings

I found that my wifi drops after a few seconds and won't reconnect - same as L14. However I have a 2 to 3 meg increase in free ram over L14. I switched back to L11 - which gives me over 30 meg free - 10 more than the dynamite version and 13-15 more than L14 - and my wifi works. Will wait for L15

Default RAM management

That is my main interest in any update of Windows Mobile, RAM.

Does anyone know for sure if each update of WM6.5 includes better memory
management?

Currently WM6.5, L14, appears to have some memory problems.
I have noticed that available memory can dip pretty low at times.

I expected that the changes to the WM6.5 OS would manage RAM better
than previous versions to free those memory leaks left over by leaky
applications.

But it has shown that it might not be doing that as well as expected.

Does anyone know if this version of WM6.5, 23016.5.3.0, is better at handling RAM?

Talking

I use a day and if it looks a little more fluid than L14 only that I did not like is that active sync is always on and I could not get clear and deactivating the chome and starting windows on wm 6.5 and achieves QuickMenu a maximum of up to 28 ram and 30 mb when using SPB Mobile shell under up to 16 mb in general is a good rom hope that L15 is an overrun, if anyone knows how to disable active sync on the Dell Axim X51v WM6.5 build A06EN Edition Dynamite 23016.5.3.0, I greatly appreciated
greetings

Is it at all disrespectful to be discussing and asking/providing support for a non-Lenny ROM on Lenny's site? I might have to bow out of this thread out of respect.

I agree with raynda, there is a site for this ROM and that's where questions should be addressed...and I will also bow out of this thread

And what site would you be speaking of, the one in Russian?

I don't know about you but I don't speak Russian.

This forum is about the Dell X51v.
If discussing this ROM is against forum rules or sensibilities then please close
it now.

No it's not disrespectful at all, this is a great community and axim site. Please don't isolate yourselves on another site. The only thing I would find disrespectful is if you took someones rom and claimed it as your own, be courteous and make sure you give credit where credit is due.
