WM 6.1, 6.5 rom for dell axim x51

hi.

i really want to get wm6.1 or wm6.5 on my x51. as Lenny hasnt even been on in over two weeks, i think i would like to give it a shot. can someone give me directions on how to make a rom? also, the rescourses i willl need?

would anyone be interested in this? if i make it, will anyone try?

if anyone wants me to, i sure will!

You need to go to XDA Developers or Mobility Site for that kind of stuff. You wont find those kind of discussions around here although Raynada tried a while back. I just sort of died out. If you can talk with makuuu he may take you under his wing, but he doesn't have an X51-mid/low so you may be out of luck. Football is gone, so is Dynamite, and LennySh is MIA as far as development goes. Makuu is the last active cook for Axims. he is active on both forums I recommended. Good Luck!

If you can get an X51 into his hands he will probably be able to build you a ROM, the guy is on fire right now!

I feel for you guys but Chefs need a test device to develop a ROM. With Axim X51v so cheap on Ebay and Craig's List it's hard to get someone to by a lower end model. If you want a ROM cooked you need to find a chef your model or donate one to them. Lenny bought one made A03, tried A04, then went underground. I think he did post somewhere that WM6.5 was in the works, but I'm not sure. Did you send him a PM or try PMing makuu. It can't hurt.

i am just a teenager w/o a job so i cant very well afford to give him one... i actually was given mine.... as for PMing, i did to lenny but he hasnt been on since nov. 24 so that wasnt much use. and i havent seen or heard of makuu.... is he on here or xda or where can i PM him @?

makuu is a member of this forum, mobilitysite, and XDA. You can PM him on all 3 sites. He posts all his ROMs on XDA. This site was built to showcase Lenny's ROM but he started on XDA and is still a member there. He may also be on mobilitysite. Most senior members and beta testers here are members of all three sites. If they are not on this forum for a while they are probably busy on one of the other forums. Like I said before, makuu is the only person right now that is making new ROMs for Axims. He is your best bet to build a ROM for the X51 mid/low.

The simple answer is no, but the good news is that the LennySh WM6 A03 rom is so good you won't miss it. It runs all WM6.1 themes and apps. Wireless works so does bluetooth. There is a SDHC fix on the thread.Its fast stable and Windows Mobile Marketplace even works.

You are not the only one. I would love WM 6.1 to have native SDHC support. WM 6.5 is a pipe dream because it can barely run on the stock X51v. With the X51's weaker processor and smaller. Built in ROM it would not be a good experience. Lets hope Lenny gets bored one night and fixes his A04 ROM once and for all.
