Um... I'm kinda lost here and I have a totally dumb question: is this ROM a completely new release in 3 different kinds? Or is this old release + 2 more kinds?
Thanks |

So far, I have only messed with the Lenny Edition, but I plan to give the other two a try later tonight.
The ROM seems very snappy and responsive. 1. The Lenny Edition, and perhaps the other two as well, should have their own "customized" welcomhead.png images to distinguish themselves from the other ROMS. and pay tribute to Lenny's awsomeness .2. For the sake of asthetics, programs with QVGA icons should have the icons replaced with beutiful crisp looking VGA icons. Maglight did this for TCPMP for his ROM, but in general, the ROM ran to slow on my device, so he failed to convert me to the dark side ![]() 3. The finger-mashable media player is nice, but it is QVGA, and as such it looks bad on a VGA screen (or any screen for that matter- all hail VGA!) 4. On the other hand, the WMP skin added in Beta4 is amazing and I am glad it is still here in Beta5. 5. The UC works nicely. 6. The quickmenu app is a little complex and cluttered, but the addition of a cascading start menu is something I am rather excited about! Maybe there is another app that does this better. 7. I am glad that "Task Manager" continues to be added to the programs directory. I find it to be much more convenient there than in the settings. Overall, the ROM is good. I think I will end up opting for one of the less tricked out editions because my taste in software is a little different from Lenny's. Speedwise, the ROMS seem to be getting better and better. Thanks for all the hard work Lenny, please don't read this as a list of critisizms, but rather a list of things that are slightly less incredibly awsome than they should be. Anyways, I am off to test Barebones and Dell Standard editions. (note - the following was added later) Just finished flashing bare bones ROM. Holy Sheiβe!!!!! It is FAST!!!!!!!!!!! But it doesn't have office or some of the other things I need. Also, the UC didn't run, so I assume it isn't included in this ROM version. So now I shall test Dell Standard, though I dislike a few of the programs included with it most notably the HTC switcher bar (grrrrrr) Last edited by Kevin1a; 05-11-2008 at 01:44 AM.. |

Wow, talk about changes...a new name and a new appearance
One point, I think y'all should mention what flavor ROM you are using when you post any issues as they might be caused by a conflict with one of the modules incorporated in the ROM. Note to Lenny. I think you might consider incorporating the screen capture utility in all ROMs just in case... On a personal note, I will be using the "Stock Dell ROM" as I do not see any features in the Lenny ROM in the list that I really need. The "Barebones" IMHO is pretty useless unless one has a machine they want to dedicate to gaming or is totally dead set against using MS applications. I use mine for just about every imaginable use so the MS Office is an indeispensible part of the mix. My programming was a very long time ago but I am collecting the SW I need and just might try to come up with a synching solution between Open Office and Android when it is ready... Maybe it's a pipe dream but who knows... |

all the roms seem to have the same program memory usage down to the .07 mb
the ram usage is the same to about .62mb. are you sure these number are correct? it would seem that the program memory should be a lot less on the lenny edition. |

Hi All,
I am a newbie here, and having had trouble with the speed of my Axim x51V and Pocket informant, I have been looking around for improvements, and have now seen this forum. .. Is there an idiots guide to upgrade the Dell Axim x51v ROM from A12, with the facility to return back to the original if I don't like the upgrade (as if!!)? Sorry to seem so dumb, but all you people are way ahead of me! Thanks in anticipation, Graham. Not a problem, managed to find relevant info on You Tube, and other posts - Awesome improvement, and can now use an 8 gB HCSD card! Wooo Hooo!!! Thanks LennySh. Now wondering what can make A.09 even better!! ![]() Last edited by GrahamST1; 06-23-2008 at 06:55 AM.. Reason: Sorted the problem by looking at You Tube and other posts |

Great work with these new roms, but I seem to be having problems with this latest build. I'm using the Lenny flavor, and have been unable to get my email working. I've set it up but everytime I go to send/receive, it gets nothing. On top of that, after a while my axim starts refusing to run any program, email, notes, ect. It says that they are not a valid PPC application and this forces me to reset the device. Once I reset the device, my computer will not recognize the axim (Activesync 4.5) until I restart the computer. Has anyone else had these issues? Any suggestions would be great, otherwise I'll probably flash back to the A03 wm6 rom.

I do not know if this is a complete upgrade or not. If it is, where can I find it and whom do I purchase it from. Also, what will I need to install it on my x51v?

Yo, Lenny: My x51v is currently experiencing problems reading SD cards; my question to you- can I download your upgrade to a CD and then load into my axim?

hi, LennySh. Is it possible to integrate the pdf reader into the rom, much thanks.I do like all the 6.1 roms here you released publicly. Cause my main usage is to read documents, and the pdf reader that you integrated in the previous 6.0 Rom is great. Last edited by boyit; 06-02-2008 at 09:33 AM.. |

Hey, everyone.
I have tried most of the Lenny's ROMs and A07 Lenny edition (non UC one) seemed to work best for me. Recently I have flashed to UC A07 Dell Edition to take advantage of user customization. Everything works fine except when I switch on my Wi-Fi and then go to Wi-Fi settings the top panel stops to respond to touches. And since the only way to close it is X in the top right corner, the only way out is to SR (Somehow Alt-Tab also stops working). I think it may be a problem with some software I am using (Otherwise of UC feature, since I never had this issue in any of the nonUC roms). Here is the list of software I have installed: Resco Keyboard Pro iLauncher FlashPlayer7 TCPMP Mega pack codecs Pocket Informant Resco file explorer with Resco Registry plugin S2P 0.50 tcpmp0.72 FlashVideoBundle.CAB (the youtube plugin) CorePlayer_v1.2.5_Build_4506.cab SKTools pocketRAR_v3.80.cab Pocket Digital Clock v1.1.8.1 Adobe_FlashLite_3.1 Opera_v9.5_Build_2392_VGA Skype AlReader2 Adobe PDF 2.5 Diamond version Manila Calculator Skin Any idea what might have caused the problem Described above? Thanks. PS: Thanks to Lenny and all the beta testers for the wonderful ROMs |

Strange that the "Dell Stock" with more included would have more Free Storage available (189.23) than the "Bare Bones" version (189.17).

Just one question: Does this Bluetooth support mean that the "Dell Stock" and "Lenny Edition" ROMs use the Widcomm stack? Because I think the Dell Stock should use the default MS stack.... I'm a bit confused on this! |

Have installed Lenny ROM version and reinstalled all my apps! It's VERY zippy. I agree, Lenny's ROMs get faster and faster!
I like QuickMenu, hadn't seen it before. In a post on another thread, I had said that there's no problem with having extra apps installed in the ROM because they don't take away from space for installing other apps and they can be uninstalled. Looks like the last point is wrong. If you go to Remove Programs right after flashing the ROM, the list is empty. Duh! Of course, since it only listed what the User has installed. So that leaves me with a remaining small concern about loading up the ROM, and that is there might be conflicts between an app you install and an app in ROM (which you can't remove). Or an older version of an app in ROM vs the newer version (eg. would TCPMP in the ROM cause problems for CorePlayer which I use?). Fortunately, though I'm having no problems! Keep up the great work, Lenny! |
