Talking Dell Axim x50v WM6.1 A09 (LennySh Edition)

Well, it's about time for the X50v!

Ok, I know I've been lagging on working on this device here lately. But apparently even though I don't know how this happened, or why it waited so long to happen, I've finally have been able to build you all a working ROM for the X50v. This is a test release. This is not going to be my final A09 release for this device. So please test the crap out of it, and notify me of any bugs/problems. Only thing I think might be wrong with this ROM, is the IrDA. But I'm working on that. But test it anyway.

Enjoy!

Test #2: Click here to download

*** Changes in Test #2 ***
1. Turned Off Error Reporting (Forgot to remove Icon in settings)
2. Removed/Turned Off SQM A.K.A. Customer Feedback
3. Added WM6.1 Speed Enhancements (Partial INITVMMAP)
4. Added Wireless Power

*** Test #1 BUGS **
1. Not sure IrDA is working.
2. I forgot to include .NET 2.0. So Some apps do not load. It is attached below.

*** Test #2 BUGS **

2. .NET 2.0. Not Included (Build Errors). So Some apps do not load. It is attached below.

Anytime you flash a ROM, you're told to hard reset manually...

Yes, and so is the fact that Calc could not be loaded. Can anybody manually install .NET 2.0 from Microsoft and see if that can be made a temp fix?

Good News..

I found the newest version of Live Messenger Working. Although I didn't try this version on MagLite ROM but I have tried several others which do not work (only the one suggested by MagLite works)

May I also suggest another fix? I found that the rom has a lot of other region missing, so that user out of english region will not have proper timezone of encoding settings. I uses the attached file to adjust the problem.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do to get this information included in future releases.

I have started using Yours WM 6.1 today (OK- yesterday) evening, and i must say, that it works much better than MagLite's. U've done a great job- thank You for it and i'm waiting for more

As for bugs... When i've installed .Net Framework everything went OK. Though i haven't checked WiFi yet. And, as U said, IR is not working

Best wishes and thank U once more

How about including .NET CF 3.5 instead of 2.0? I think it is unavoidable to have CF3.5 to replace 2.0 soon.

Bluetooth ok ( try with my GPS and Tomtom6 )
Wifi also ok

only one think but i don't know if is it normal or not, in th TaskManager we can see process and the filesys.exe process often uses 90% of CPU

else this rom is faster like freedomsarge says

Could you explain us how to build one , i would like to build one in french if it's possible

tks

the filesys.exe kicks in when you are lacking of available block to write. Or after heave write operation. Unavoidable on X50V.
