was the x51v working prior to your work?
what ROM was loaded (just for reference)?

And after putting the x51v back together, and got this:
On the screen is ‘SD Image Update A10_G3’

were you doing a hard reset with an SD in the x51v to reflash?

Did you just try to power the x51v after your work?

uzziah0, good questions. I was thinking similarly, but one more question for r4me would be "The first boot after reflash takes a lot of time. it doesn't seem to be doing much, but it is. How long did you wait?"

Thanks for your fast replies. Prior to me opening the case, x51v was working fine.
I wrote down, but can't find original ROM details - so don't know.
Yes, I was doing a hard reset with a 512mb SD card to flash (also tried SanDisk 2.0GB). Followed by a soft reset. Tried to power up but got nothing. Details of ROM that went all the way - but after hard and soft resets = nothing, as follows; DiAd_KAximX51_WM5_A12EN.nb0 (& ..........crc).
Reply to your question vamorgan - 45minutes = nothing.
Be nice if I could find a suitable WM5 ROM, bearing in mind that I can only load it from a SD card..........thanks.

After you tinkered with the insides, did you power it up to make sure it worked afterwords?
Or, did you tinker with the insides and attempt to update the ROM all at once?

You might try to install a ROM from Dell that you can do throughe an active sycn commection. Something like A12, I think, was the last one.
Start with that, and then when you know your Axim is all up and workling, then try to update to OS to one of Lenny's.

Why do you say you can only load from SD card?
Is there something else wrong with the Axim that you have not mentioned?

This last one sounds like it was successful.. I found that sometimes I have to try 3 times after I reach this point before I get the screen that says to "press contacts key to hard reset". Hold down the power button, keep holding it and give a quick push in and out on the reset at the back, keep holding the power button for about 4 seconds. Release it. If nothing happens, or you get the Blue Dell screen, do it again. You might have to do it a few times.

Thank you very much for excellent work; week ago I bought x51v second hand and I just made installation of WM6.1 L10, now I can use my 16GB Pretec SDHC.

Hi the RS links are dead as of Feb 27th 2009..And the Dell Stock ROM has no link and the Bare Bones has no link either on the first page..How can I find the Stock Dell ROM 10 or 11 please? Soory if I've missed something and just asked a dumb Q....

Click on the word DOWNLOAD under Lenny Edition and you will be able to download. The link works for me.

Actually, I don't think there ever was a Stock or Dell versions of L10 or L11.

Just upgraded to wm6.1 however when I press the program on the drop down menu I dont have any icons. Also I can't seem to find the transcriber in window mobile. When I press the arrow button next to the keypad transcriber is missing. So this is my question: Is there some way I can set this up using Lennysh 6.1 or will I need to go back to the wm 6? If so how do I go about that? Pleasssse help!

I started this rom last night and it is still at the fourth phase of flashing the rom, it passed the first three. It's stuck and I don't know what to do. Is it "bricked"? I have flashed other roms before, I had Lenny's 6.1 A06. I did everything the same as usual....I think. I read the first three pages of this thread and no one else had a problem. I am at FedEx using their computers, so that is why I am keeping this short. I'll check back later. Thanks!

I am new at this and accomplished upgrading my x51v wm5 to Lennys wm6. Unfortunately to my surprise I no longer have Windows Media in the same format nor do I have Program or Setting Icons as some of the upgrades for wm6. I'm not sure if it's something I missed or if the Lenny wm6 don't offer it. Do anyone know which upgrades will allow me to still have these Icons? There very important for me and I have found it difficult scrolling down to find each one of the programs when I need them. I have 2 others x51v with the upgrade and the program icons as well as windows media. Both are the same set up and I would love to find the same kind. Please help....thanks.
