So here's the challenge the develper of the P2P program Pocket G2Pro dissaperred a couple of years ago, nobody on any forum I've been on knows where he went (perhaps he's dead), his program is the best out there for p2p file sharing on the pocket pc but it quit working, no one seems to know why but his site went down and no other product has popped up to replace the beta so we're left with a broken program. I will give $20 usd to the first person who can provide me with a working version of the program.

Basically the initial discovery URLs were dead fish...
See the attachment below for an installer with updated URLs inside Enable uPNP at router and correct firewall settings if there's still no connection beeing established. . Thanks to CL and Lenny for helping out in testing *hug you guys* Last edited by emmtee; 08-02-2008 at 08:14 PM.. |

Awesome!! But one quick question, is this program capable of downloading torrents?

This program uses the Gnutella2 Network. It is not a torrent program. If you want to use torrents, my recomendation would be WindowMobileTorrent. I guess if people are sharing torrents you could download the torrent itself and then use it in your torrent program. Oh, and I'm sure Lenny, Astain, Taucher, and the whole rest of the crew wouldn't mind if you threw a couple bucks at the WM6.1 or Android projects

I did, I donated 5 dollars via paypal, hopefully soon I'll be able to give some more. I want Android!! =D
Thanks for the point towards the WindowMobileTorrent, I'll let you know if it works. Thanks again! Edit: Yeah I tried WinMobile Torrent before and it would not connect, no matter what I tried both at home and at public networks. Last edited by jsmith42690; 08-02-2008 at 07:55 PM.. Reason: I forgot I already tried WinMobile Torrent |

there's a discovery-list-file that the app creates on start - it's initially filled with 2 URLs, which are hard-coded in the app itself (and were no longer valid). then the app tries to contact each of those discovery URLs - if that fails the line gets erased from the list, if it succeeds then the list can even grow. In case of no-network this causes the list to become totally empty (even with valid URLs) ... once the list is empty the seed to start again (once networking is re-established) consists just of the internal URLs. Without them being fixed the app would always forget it's discovery sites. A second issue is the lack of "reply" from the discovery sites while UPNP in the router is not enabled - that can cause even valid discovery sites to return no data, thus keep the app stuck at "connecting". |

Thanks for the detailed explanation emmtee so where and how did you change the discovery files did you simply change the files in a txt program and then copy them back over to the g2 folder or is it more complicated?

Try turning off the "firewalled" option in the network tab of pocketG2.
